1 Description of Competition

Heathrow Airport Limited are running a competition for one (1) person to win the prize of an airside tour at Heathrow Airport (the “Competition”).

2 Promoter’s name and address

2.1 The promoter is LHR Airports Limited (company number 01970855) of The Compass Centre, Nelson Road, Hounslow, TW6 2GW, United Kingdom (the “Promotor”).

3 How to participate

3.1 Entry is only open to attendees of the Passenger Terminal Expo 2019 taking place on 26 – 28 March 2019 (a “Participant”).

3.2 Participants must be 18 years of age or over and hold a valid passport. The Promoter may require proof of age from Participants.

3.4 Participants can enter the Competition via https://a.pgtb.me/8gKcT0

3.5 To enter the Competition, a Participant must answer at least five (5) answers correctly to a seven (7) question quiz. Once the Participant has chosen their answers, supplied a valid business email address and clicked “Enter”, they will then have entered the Competition. Entry to the Competition is free and no purchase is necessary. The Promoter shall not charge any Participant for entering or attempting to enter the Competition.

3.6 Any breach of these Terms and Conditions by a Participant or any dishonest, misrepresentative or fraudulent conduct will void an entry.

3.7 A maximum of one entry per Participant is permitted. Submission of duplicate entries will render all previous entries invalid for the duration of the Competition.

4. Start Date

4.1 The Competition will be open from 10.00am (GMT) Tuesday 26 March 2019 (the “Start Date”) and entries received on or after this date will be valid.

5 Closing Date

5.1 The closing date for the Competition will be 3.00pm (GMT) on Friday 29 March 2019 (the “Closing Date”). Any entries received after this date will not be valid.

6. Selection and notification of the Winner

6.1 The winner of the Competition will be randomly selected from all entries correctly submitted in accordance with these Terms and Conditions (the “Winner”).

6.2 Notification of the Winner will take place by 4.45pm (GMT) , 29 March 2019 via email to the Winner’s email address used by the Participant to enter the Competition. If the Winner does not respond within 5 business days of being notified or is unable to accept the prize, then another Winner will be selected again in accordance with clause 6.1.

6.3 The Promotor’s decision on the Winner is final and no correspondence will be entered into by the Promotor with the unsuccessful Participants.

7 Prize

7.1 The prize is an airside tour of Heathrow Airport facilitated by the Promoter on date to be confirmed between both parties (the “Prize”).

7.2 The Prize must be redeemed by 31 December 2019.

7.3 The Prize is not transferable, not exchangeable and no cash alternative is available.

7.4 The Prize must be taken as stated and no compensation will be payable if the Winner is unable to accept the Prize as stated.

8 Restrictions and requirements

8.1 The Competition is not open to any employee of Heathrow Airport Limited, Heathrow Airports Limited and Heathrow Express Operating Company Limited or any employee of a holding company or subsidiary of the above companies (together the “Heathrow Group”).

8.3 8.2 Any additional transportation, travel insurance, accommodation and sustenance costs not included in the Prize are the responsibility of the Winner.

8.4 The Winner may be required to take part in publicity resulting from the Competition including but not limited to clause 8.2.

8.5 The Winner is only permitted to bring one handheld camera, two photographic lenses and one smartphone on the day. Tripods and other filming apparatus will not be permitted. Winners may only take photographs or videos within a security restricted area when advised and permitted by the Promoter or its representatives. Winners shall not publish any photographs or footage taken within a security restricted area without the express written consent of the Promoter.

8.6 The Winner must pass background security checks as required by the Promoter. Any failure to pass security requirements of the Promoter will result in the Winner being considered as unable to accept to accept the Prize and another Winner will be selected as per Clause 6.2.

9 Ownership of entries and intellectual property

9.1 All Competition entries and any accompanying material submitted to the Promoter will become the property of the Promoter on receipt and will not be returned.

9.2 By submitting a Competition entry and any accompanying material, Participants agree:

  • to assign to the Promoter all of their intellectual property rights with full title guarantee; and
  • to waive all moral rights, in and to their Competition entries and otherwise arising in connection with their entries to which you may now or at any time in the future be entitled under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 as amended from time to time and under all similar legislation from time to time in force anywhere in the world.
  • that the Promoter may, but is not required to make their entries available on its website (https://www.heathrow.com/) and any other media, whether now known or invented in the future, and in connection with any publicity of the Competition.
  • to grant the Promoter a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence, for the full period of any intellectual property rights in the Competition entries and any accompanying materials, to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-licence the Competition entries and any accompanying materials for such purpose.

10 Personal data

10.1 Any personal data provided by a Participant will remain confidential to the Promotor and will not be disclosed to any third party without the Participant’s prior consent, except that the Promotor reserves the right to use the information for the purposes of facilitating the Competition including but not limited to publishing the name of the Winner on its website, as well as providing the Winner’s details to third parties for the purposes of administering the Competition including but not limited to the actual providers of the Prize.

10.2 All personal data provided by a Participant will be used by the Promotor solely for the purposes of administering the Competition or as otherwise set out/referred to in these Terms and Conditions.

10.3 The Promotor may choose to document the Winner through photographs and video to be shared across internal channels. The Winner agrees that the Promotor may use their name and photograph to announce the Winner of the Competition and for any other reasonable and related competition purposes.

10.4 The Promoter will be using the third-party provider SHORTSTACK.COM to administer the Competition. All personal data provided by an entrant (Twitter Profile link and Facebook profile links) will be used by the Promoter solely for the purposes of administering the competition and will be securely destroyed from SHORTSTACK.COM within one (1) year of the closing date, unless the entrant has elected to receive further promotional or marketing information. 10.5 Further information on how the Promotor will collect and use the Participants’ personal data can be found in the Promotor’s privacy notice in relation to the Competition which can be accessed here.

11 Liability

11.1 All Participants acknowledge and accept that the Promotor reserves the right to suspend, modify, cancel or terminate the Competition and/or revoke any Participant’s application at any time by giving notice to the particular Participant without incurring any liability.

11.2 The Promotor does not accept responsibility for Participant entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including but not limited to, as a result of an equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.

11.3 Each Participant will indemnify the Promotor from and against any losses which the Promotor suffers or incurs as a result of any breach, failure, performance or negligence by the Participant under these Terms and Conditions.

11.4 Subject to clauses 11.5 and 11.6, the Promotor shall have no liability to any of the Participants under these Terms and Conditions.

11.5 Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promotor, its agents, employees or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the Winner or accept any liability for any loss or damage that may be lawfully excluded which occurs as a result of taking up the Prize, except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promotor, its agents, employees or distributors. The Winner’s statutory rights are not affected.

11.6 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude, limit or restrict the liability of either party:

  • for death or personal injury arising from negligence;
  • in respect of any fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
  • to the extent such limitation or exclusion is not permitted by law.

12 General

12.1 The Participant is deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions upon entry in the Competition. The Promotor reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time and will make the amended Terms and Conditions available to the Participants.

12.2 The Promotor reserves the right to refuse participation, or refuse to award the Prize, to anyone in breach of these Terms and Conditions and its decision shall be absolute and final.

12.3 If at any time any part of these Terms and Conditions is held to be or becomes void or otherwise unenforceable for any reason under any applicable law, the same shall be deemed omitted from these Terms and Conditions and the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions of these Terms and Conditions shall not in any way be affected or impaired as a result of that omission.

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
