Airside Officer Glenn Palmer features in Episode 1 of Britain’s Busiest Airport – Heathrow, showcasing his vintage aircraft marshalling technique (wait till you see it!). Glenn has retired since the filming of the show, ending a sterling 26 year career!

What is your official job title?
At the time of the documentary, I was Head of Terminal Operations & Passenger Experience for Terminal 2. Now I am a Programme Lead for the Commercial Division.

Favourite thing about working at an airport?
Working with the aircraft and being out on the front line and working with a good team.

Favourite thing about your job?
Being involved in the last Concorde flights and marshalling the plane was a definite highlight of my career. My favourite thing aside from that experience has been the arrival of various heads of state for a huge variety of countries from around the world – including all the members of the Royal family – US President, Russian President and the Pope.

Chiswick, London.

Aviation.

ELO or Queen.

Favourite TV show?
Only Fools and Horses.
