Dominika Socha, Cabin Crew, British Airways
Dominika attended the Heathrow Jobs & Careers Fair in 2015, while studying Airline and Airport Management at the University of West London.
Dominika lives in Ealing and attended the fair in the hope of finding full-time employment while completing her 3 year management degree. The British Airways recruitment team were onsite promoting employment opportunities at the airline. Dominika met a British Airways apprentice on the day and gained some insight into the opportunities available at the airline and the application process.
After applying online immediately for a position as Cabin crew, Dominika was invited for an assessment day and interviews. She was delighted to be offered the role and, following intensive training, she is now a member of the British Airways flying crew.
“I have always had the dream to build a career in aviation. I am lucky to be able to combine both my studies and full time employment together. I sacrifice a lot, but the hard work pays off and British Airways is very supportive. I am proud to wear my uniform and play an important role within the team.
I get to travel all over the world, crossing multiple time zones combining both short and long-haul flights. I continue to be focused and driven to continue building my career and one day hope to work in the management office for BA at Terminal 5, inspiring others to take the same route.” – Dominika Socha

Inam Rana, Grounds Operations Agent, British Airways
Inam Rana visited the Heathrow Jobs and Careers Fair in 2014 having seen the event promoted online. At the time he was studying IT and Business Management at Hertfordshire University and visited the fair in the search for graduate schemes and employment opportunities.
Inan met the recruitment team from OmniServ, who were promoting skilled vacancies and opportunities with the Passenger Service Team. Following the event Inam was invited for an interview and shortly afterwards was offered the post of Passenger Service Agent.
Inam worked with OmniServ for 12 months and he has now moved on to work as a ground operations agent for British Airways.
“On my visit to the Heathrow Jobs & Careers fair last year, I was overwhelmed by the number of exhibitors and it became difficult for me to choose which job to go for, I was spoilt for choice!
“It is a great opportunity for students like me to be able to join the airport through such well organised fairs and have the unique chance of actually speaking to the employers and have a good idea of what they expect from you and discuss any questions you may have.
“From a very young age I was a special education needs child who was unable to speak or communicate properly. I truly believe no matter what problems you have if you work hard and follow your dreams you will one day succeed. My long term plan is to work towards a management role at the airport and to inspire others.” – Inam Rana
