UPDATE (Feb 19, 2012): A recap of the 2014 Heathrow Jobs and Careers Fair is available here.
Aviation enthusiast, customer service focused, interested in engineering or driven by construction? The Heathrow Jobs and Careers Fair is the right place for you!
The annual event held on February 11 will see more than 5,000, 16-24 year-olds come through the door in search of developing a career at Heathrow.
Young people from the local community are encouraged to attend the event to get inspired, gain career advice, seek interview tips and learn what’s available at Heathrow.
Over 47 companies, which operate at Heathrow, will be on hand to educate job seekers on developing a career at the airport. Parents and teachers are also encouraged to attend so they can help steer their students or children in the right direction.
Who is invited?
Now in its seventh year, the careers fair is aimed at 16-24 year olds within the five local boroughs, although last year the event attracted people of all ages from across the south east. Many students who have grown up near the airport have had dreams of working in aviation and this event opens that door for them. The event is free and open to anyone that is interested in attending.
Over 76,500 jobs airport wide….
Paula Stannett, Heathrow Human Resources Director said, ‘The Heathrow jobs and careers fair is about supporting young people from the local area and demonstrating the wealth of job opportunities available at the airport. Parents can often benefit too by increasing their understanding of the options available to their children. It was fantastic seeing so many attendees last year and I hope that this year will be even more successful.’
Heathrow is one of the largest single-site employers with more than 76,500 people working at the airport, offering a wide range of jobs, training and career opportunities. The business community surrounding the airport includes firms involved in construction, engineering, retail, logistics, communication, planning, security and technology.
Who’s going to be there?
Whether you want to work in retail, be a baggage handler, pilot or cabin crew – there are exhibitors from all types of employers attending the fair:
